There will not be a Consecration of the Human Being service this Sunday at the parish house in Mebane. Instead, Buddy and Sarah Smiley will be holding a devotional gathering at their home in Chapel Hill. We will engage in a little singing, some short prayers, a reading of scripture, and plenty of conversation. We typically read from the Jon Madsen rendering of The New Testament but compare with other versions. Our conversation about the gospel reading tends to deepen and illuminate our understanding while drawing us into a spiritually intimate communion. It’s always a rich experience.
