There will not be a Consecration of the Human Being service today. A devotional gathering will be held instead.

When it is not possible for a priest to hold services, we sometimes have devotional gatherings. At these meetings we engage in a little singing, some short prayers, a reading of scripture, and plenty of conversation. We typically read from the Jon Madsen rendering of The New Testament but compare with other versions. Our conversation about the gospel reading tends to deepen and illuminate our understanding while drawing us into a spiritually intimate communion. It’s always a rich experience.

Gathering together helps build our Christian community when we are not able to participate in The Consecration of the Human Being.
