Whitsun, or Pentecost, celebrates the descent of the Holy Spirit which first occurred 50 days after the Resurrection. Rev. Carol Kelly will be able to join us on this Tuesday, June 2nd at 10:30 am to celebrate the Festival of Whitsun. This is our last visit with her for the foreseeable future as she is moving to a new community in Hillsdale, NY next month. This will be a chance for us to share the blessings of the sacrament and say good bye to our beloved priest. We will be holding the service outside so that all can attend the service in a Covid-safe way. If you wish to bring a personal greeting card or gift for Carol, we will be sharing such offerings with her on this occasion.

The location of the service has been moved to the backyard of Robin and Diana Haynes. The address is: 2707 Tryon Rd, Durham, NC 27705. We are asking everyone to observe social distancing protocol throughout your time on the premises. Please enter through the garden gate to the right of the garage. The house will be off limits except to use the restroom. The yard is large and we will set up individual chairs 6’ apart. If you choose to be in close proximity with anyone, please wear a facial mask. Masks will not be required while practicing social distancing, but to keep everyone safe, please bring one along in the event that you choose to be closer than 6’ from someone.

Practical Considerations:
Childcare will not be provided. There will be liquid refreshments available, as well as a hand sanitizer station. If you have a lawn chair that you can easily bring, you might find that more comfortable than our folding chairs. Those with hearing challenges are encouraged to sit in the front row of seats as the acoustics of being outside can make it harder to hear. Please pull forward to park snugly in the driveway and you’re also welcome to park on the street, being mindful not to obstruct mailboxes or driveways.
