With the birth of Christ on earth the path to that reunification has appeared before us. \nRev. Craig Wiggins will sketch an arc leading from the first awakening of human consciousness through the resurrection into the present day. The task of our time is to prepare the way for the awakening of Christ consciousness in the realm of the life forces. After an excursion into the world of Promise and Prophecy in the Hebrew Testament\, we will explore the Path indicated by the three scripture readings which resound at Christmas. \nThe sessions will begin with the Consecration of the Human Being and end with Close of Day. DESCRIPTION:The Act of Consecration of Man will be held on Thursday\, June 24th at 10:30 am at the residence of Buddy & Sarah Smiley. Afterwards we hope that people will gather at a nearby park to share a pot luck lunch and fellowship from approximately 12 – 2 pm. The address of North Forest Hills Park is 121 Collums Road\, Chapel Hill\, NC 27514. \nMasks and distancing will no longer be required. However\, since the seating space is limited in the Smiley residence we are asking for RSVPs\, including whether you will be able to attend the pot luck afterwards. DESCRIPTION:Due to COVID-19 restrictions\, only 10 people can be in the chapel space at a time. Seating is by reservation only. Please contact Diana Haynes (dhaynes@earthlink.net) to reserve a place. Another service will be held at 11:00 AM. \nIt will not be possible to have a talk under these circumstances\, however we will have a table set up outside with coffee\, creamer and a snack. Masks are required while in the building and social distancing is required while outside the building. We appreciate your support for what we do in bringing the sacraments to NC and if you are able to make a contribution towards the increased expenses of hosting this event\, it is greatly appreciated. SUMMARY:Act of Consecration for Whitsun
DESCRIPTION:Whitsun\, or Pentecost\, celebrates the descent of the Holy Spirit which first occurred 50 days after the Resurrection. Rev. Carol Kelly will be able to join us on this Tuesday\, June 2nd at 10:30 am to celebrate the Festival of Whitsun. This is our last visit with her for the foreseeable future as she is moving to a new community in Hillsdale\, NY next month. This will be a chance for us to share the blessings of the sacrament and say good bye to our beloved priest. We will be holding the service outside so that all can attend the service in a Covid-safe way. If you wish to bring a personal greeting card or gift for Carol\, we will be sharing such offerings with her on this occasion. \nThe location of the service has been moved to the backyard of Robin and Diana Haynes. The address is: 2707 Tryon Rd\, Durham\, NC 27705. We are asking everyone to observe social distancing protocol throughout your time on the premises. Please enter through the garden gate to the right of the garage. The house will be off limits except to use the restroom. The yard is large and we will set up individual chairs 6’ apart. If you choose to be in close proximity with anyone\, please wear a facial mask. Masks will not be required while practicing social distancing\, but to keep everyone safe\, please bring one along in the event that you choose to be closer than 6’ from someone. \nPractical Considerations:\nChildcare will not be provided. There will be liquid refreshments available\, as well as a hand sanitizer station. If you have a lawn chair that you can easily bring\, you might find that more comfortable than our folding chairs. Those with hearing challenges are encouraged to sit in the front row of seats as the acoustics of being outside can make it harder to hear. Please pull forward to park snugly in the driveway and you’re also welcome to park on the street\, being mindful not to obstruct mailboxes or driveways. \nIf you are unable to join us for the Act of Consecration but would like to make a donation to help Carol in her transition to a new home in the Taconic Berkshire community\, you can donate online. Please add in the note section how much you would like to give Rev. Carol personally and how much you would like to donate to help cover our normal costs for a priest visit. We hope you will come and share in this Festival of Hope.
